I have a very picky male ambilobe that will only eat P nivea. Ive tried a bunch of other staples but he won't touch discoids ( can't get dubia in FL) Ive tried to get the colony started several times but between die off ( I seem to get a lot ) and feeding I can't get it started and the cost a fortune to buy from a breeder. Any suggestions on propagating the colony? I seem tp have an endless supply of nymphs but very few adults. Im buying them 200 at a time. There enclosure is a sterilize gasket tub with screened holes,Substrate is organic soil and coconut husk with some palm bark on top. Ive been feeing them fruit and some dry dubia chow which they don't seem to eat. Temp is 85 degrees under the bark. Any help or suggestions would be welcome.

They need extremely high humidity and do best when it is high, so keeping a heat pad underneath the bin is not the best idea. It dries out the substrate too fast, I always mount mine on the sides. Otherwise, the adults only have a lifespan on average of a few months, I think they last 6 months at most. They take around 145-180 days to mature into adults. Feeding an establishing colony off is not smart.
