I work at The Home Depot and i have this wire mesh that i was wanting to use to make the walls of an outdoor cage for my cham. Its pretty tight mesh but you can see right through it, so i was wondering, is this going to filter out what he'll need making the outside cage useless??

If direct sun can get in, and its not like glass or plastic, than it should be ok.

I buy the black 1/4 garden mesh to make outside cages. That and some pvc equals strong good outside cage for me.

I just finished an outside enclosure tonight and posted this pic on another thread but I am sure this is the stuff you are talking about. I got the plastic hardware cloth at Lowes and I think it will work out really well!

Yes, photons of light can get through some pretty small holes..........;)
If you can see through it, the cham gets uv

That's awesome! Can you post a list of materials? Did you get all that at Lowes?

Yea,I got everything at Lowes. It's a 3x3x6 cage.
(11) 1x2x6 wood posts
(2) 3x25 plastic hardware cloth 1/4 inch mesh
(24) 2" L brackets with screws
(4) Small brass door hinges
(4) Screw eyes (to keep door closed) I wrap plastic coated wire around them.
(gazillion) 1/2 inch staples (used staple gun)
Paint

I had all the hardware, so I only had to buy the wood and hardware cloth. Cost about $55 and took 2 full days for me to make but it wasn't too difficult.
The stuff I already had was purchased at Lowes too, just had it leftover from other stuff!

And Moskeeper, even if yours has closer mesh it should be fine. If you want to test it before you go to the trouble of using it, just go outside and unroll about 5 feet of it. Hold it up to see how the light passes through and how well you can see through it.
