Outdoor enclosure for Jackson in Arizona?

Hi

I have a female Jackson and was wondering whats the best method of letting her getting some rays without any damage being done. I take her out in the morning and she gets indirect sunlight and was in hopes until its too hot here(Phoenix area)that she can stay out more often. Any suggestions would be great.

I am in Texas and put my jackson out until it gets too hot. I put him in a cage I built that has plants and patio misters so that he can stay cool and hydrated. in summer he can only go out in the morning for a couple hours, but its still worth it. on mild days I let him stay out for at least 4+ hours, hence the need for misters.

Here's what I do in KC, MO in the dead of summer when the temperature easily reaches 90s to 100s.

I let my male Jax out in the mornings where he can get some indirect or dappled sun. By 1100/noon, its really too hot, so I move his cage into deep shade. The whole time, I will run my patio misting system so he always has a cool spray he can sit in. I have the cheapest MistyMate, which is a perforated hose that screws on to a garden hose. Cheesy but perfect. I taped off all but the end three nozzles. Ferdinand absolutely loves it. A constant, heavy drip would work too if you position a branch right under it.

On the days where it's crazy hot (95+), I take him in after a few hours.

I think if you can provide deep shade and water on hot days, she will still get way more full spectrum light and UV than any light bulb will provide but is protected from overheating.

Obviously, you want to keep an eye on her, but Ferds does really well with this system and gets very crabby when it's time to come in. If she starts gaping (mouth open), bring her inside.

Excellent! I have been using a dripper and misting throughout the day.. just bought the patio mister that hooks to my water hose. She seems to be doing fine I just didn't want anything to happen and have regrets later.
