Organic Soil

So I bought some organic soil for a new project of mine and everything looked nice in the cage until I read the ingredients, it contained fertilizer, organic, but fertilizer non-the-less. Since its organic and not chemical will it be OK to use?

If it is organic then I don't see why It wouldn't be ok to use. Cover it with large river rocks and you're good to go :)

I really wouldn't,,,,the multiple lowes in cinci sell organic that's fertalizer free. If the chams gona eat it or lay eggs or dig it...I wouldn't use it....if the chams going to eat the plant that's in it....I again wouldn't use it. Yogg is a plant eater big time....so I had to make sure all soil was legit organic and fert free.

there is no visible fertilizer in the soil, but it says it contains fertilizer, if it is organic then I think it is different from being chemical. Waiting for more responses. It also says that it is pet-safe.

I don't know for sure if it is safe, but if you can't find anything else I personally would just use it. I don't think I have seen any soil that is completely fertilizer free. If the chameleon you are using this with has a habit of eating soil, it couldn't hurt to bake it just to get rid of any parasites that could be in it.

its not visible fertilizer, like mentioned previously.

I didn't mean to imply the fertilizer was visible, or that it was in chunks. I meant that if there are chunks like vermiculite or bark at the top to simply remove those from the top layer.

Most landscape supply yards will carry some very nice bulk soil (bed mix or something like that) and will let u get a 5 gallon bucket worth if u ask for prob a dollar or two if that. That is what i do, there are no chemical fert in bulk soil 99% of the time as it costs too much to add chem fert.

ps: I own a landscaping company here in Ohio ;p
