Yes, sounds like perlite. Some chams insist on shooting at or eating the stuff. It does help the soil drain well, but you could always cover the soil surface with rocks so the cham can't get any on its tongue.
Yes,Carlton is correct, cover those soil,so ur cham wont accidentally ingest the perlite.
Then u shall let it drain away ,repeat, drain until u stop watering and settle with some big rock on top of those soil.Well so I just did that, then I watered the plant and boom perlite coming out the top all over the place....

Sounds like it doesn't have drainage holes in the bottom? have you checked? either that or your perlite has not soaked up enough water and is too dry at the moment to be weighed down. If I'm correct I'm pretty sure perlite soaks up water and then gets heavier.
Can you drain them(perlite with water) without the rock on top of the soil ?drain as much as u can then cover with the rock and let it settleits not coming out the bottom. It is coming out the top after I put the rocks on, I pour in water and the white stuff floats up on top of the rocks.
Yeah just read that too XD in order to stop it, put some eco earth ontop of it for like the first inch, and then cover with rocks
How much is the organic soil in ur local shop like home depot or Lowes?
Do you have any moss? If you put moss on top of the soil then rocks it should do the same as the eco earth
Its ok,ur wife rather buy shoes than soil,so do u think its worth the pain to take away the perlite or its easier to suck up the loss n buy the organic soil??5 dollars, for this junk that she bought. From lowes.
