Hi,

I am curious if it would be ok to hang orchids mounted on cork slabs in the chameleon enclosure? Orchids do not require soil and should thrive in the high humidity environment.

Thanks,

Mike

Hmm....never thought of that? Why? If it doesn't eat potted plants on the ground, why something hanging? Sorry if silly question...

what kind of chameleon do you have? Most panthers do not eat plants. the veilds will however. Also, don't know about cork as it would get wet and yucky from misting the cage wouldn't it?

A panther. The cork really wouldn't. To water the orchids, they get misted on a regular basis. I may try it unless there are any major objections.

Thanks,

Mike

I don't see why not! I have tried keeping orchids in my cages (not with a lot of success but hey, they look beautiful for a while so it makes me happy) and my panthers, carpets, and dwarf chameleons have never tried to eat the flowers, leaves, roots, etc.
