Opti's New Digs, made possilbe by your imput! PIC HEAVY.

Hey everyone,

I recently made some changes regarding Opitmus Prime's (Opti,for short) set up. I moved my sulcata setup and put Opti's cage in a more central location. I added a dual tube light fixture from Home Depot and made a cheapo reflector out of a tube bulb box and aluminum foil. It has a 10.0 repti-glo bulb in the back socket, and a cool white flo bulb in the front socket. His heat lamp exploded this morning when I sprayed, so right now it has a 60watt zoomed blue bulb. It usually has a 100wt basking bulb. The plants are a hibiscus and schefflera, with bamboo stakes and a few vines. The cage is a zoomed reptibreeze, 2x2x4, on a 15in base with a central drain. Today I'am making a trip in town to pick up some more vines and plants to fill in the barren hole in the back. I need to find a more sturdy tree/shrub. He's already stripped the hibiscus!! I'am also getting a turtle tuff waterproof basking bulb!! I also took pics of the temps. The basking temp and hygo at the top of his cage and the zoomed thermo with probe monitors his mid cage temp. Right now they are on par, though the basking spot could be a little warmer!! Curse me and my lazy spraying!!
Anyway, please take a look and fill me in on anything else I may have missed. I've also included pics of my two sulcata tortoises, Speedy the big guy, and Pip the little guy.

That looks like a great enclosure to me mate! Loving all the plants in there for optimus!

I would say for the basking bulb just get a 60 or 40 watt 100 is to much. For a uvb bulb get a reptisun 5.0 from lllreptile.com. The blue bulb may be not be good i heard, but ask someone here on the forums i never used a blue bulb. Otjherwise you have a nice looking chameleon and amazing setup good job


EDIT i see now you have a repti glo. I heard those work good to

OPT must be one happy cham. The enclosure looks great. If you are going for an extra plant try a ficus tree, it is a good tree for them and veiled ear the leaves. Nice sulcatas, my sis also has those, boy they get big!! Great work.

Made the last changes. He is loving life Added more vines and down sized his basking bulb to a 75wt slash proof bulb. No more exploding bulbs when I spray!!
