OPINIONS PLZ - cage

Im kinda in a desperate need of opinions. I built my 2 cages in the last 2 months and didnt plan on situations to cage so quickly. But as it stands now my husband and I are probably looking at spending 2-3 months at my moms til he finds a good job and we move once he gets out of the military. Even though the military is moving us I need my cages for my guys. Neither of them will fit in the back of the truck during our move (2x3x4 foot cages).

So after a hard decision I've decided to take them a part to make a 2'x4'x4' cage and divide it in the middle making them a 2'x2'x4 cage for both of my chams. Main reason I was thinking about this is 1.) I don't like how they turned out and 2.) we wont have to move 2 huge cages. And the fact that I wont be able to finish up the doors if I leave them like this.

So ladies and gentleman, I'm asking for some suggestions. I know in the pics they look bad due to not enough foliage up top.
Thank you for looking =)

i cant click them to make them bigger.. they are so small my old eyes cant see them clear enuff to give opinion on the cage itself.

I get the following from your link:

ok was able to see the cages via that other post/link.

I liked how you built the cages... some thought went into them instead of just tossed together. They don't look bad at all imo, you have a solid setup and incorporated things you wanted when you built the cage. You will always look back at a cage and say damn i could of done this differently and made it better. Never fails for me at least.

What is on the floor of the cage with the nesting bin opening? screening, acrylic,etc...? I ask because it looks like that everything would drain into the nesting bin and really soak it up during the misting etc... and would that have a negative impact on the area as a nesting bin? Wouldn't the soil be soaked and not a good candidate for making tunnels etc?

Just asking I have never had a female. I like the idea because if a nesting bin wasn't needed you just drop down a screen to cover the hole pull the bin out and let it drain into a container etc... multi purpose.

Anyway, from the looks of it you used the braces to attach the frame together, no nails/screws into the wood sections other than the braces? If so then simply number the sections (left, right, front, top, bottom) and take the braces apart and collapse the cages for the transport in the truck, could you do that?

Thank you! :)

Well, when I first took those pics Angel, my girl, was happy in her own cage. Then Ringo, her future boyfriend decided that he like her cage better. I've removed the laying bin and put screen down to cover the hole. I know it doesnt look like it; but under the plants its screened and a wired shelf is allowing drainage. I never took a pic of the stand when I made it.

My biggest concern right now is that if I leave the cages as is I have no more screen for the doors. So they are pretty much running a big screen in FR with walls but no door. Ringo's been a good boy and has stayed in his cage since he wondered out of his original cage. But dont want to risk it again. Dont really know when I'll be able to get the screen for doors :(

And foliage is another issue. The bottom of the cages have 2-3 plants but the top is just 1 pothos and they arent growing as fast as I would like. Its driving me nuts to see it like that and I'm sure if its driving me nuts; its driving them insane =(

why wouldn't you be able to buy some screen? Lowes has it cheap enuff.

Ahh I was not commenting on the items in the cage, I assumed it was a build thread and once you had that worked out you would get branches and plants etc... put in there. :)

go get an umbrella or ficus to put un the center of the cages, it will fluff up the middle/top of the cage with foliage. If you want the plants to grow more hit them with some 6500k light via tube or clamp on light fixtures.
