Nope, I got her from Julie (chams1)
She is believed to be a girl because of her observed behaviors while under the care of Julie.

Now thats a biggg mellers. Shes very beautiful congrats. How old is she? Is this your first mellers?

Her age is unknown. Julie got her as a rescue as an adult and had her for a couple of years. She is considered, "older"
This is my first, but I am positive that she will not be my last.

Hows that parrot cage working for ya? Does she cup feed? Thats the only downside of those cages, feeders can escape so easily.

It's actually an iguana cage. She has been housed in it ever since Julie got her so I took that also since she [Fria] was comfortable in it.
The cup feeding is only the occasional superworm or two. For the most part, she prefers hand feeding.

My sentiments exactly. Nick, don't forget that I warned you prior to you taking her.
Aaawwww....there's my girl! She looks so pretty! No messing around with small pictures!
For those of you that asked, she is a very BIG girl and pushes almost 475 grams all the time. I got her about 2.5 years ago at a show (she was my 3rd adult melleri at the time) and she was pretty pathetic looking then. She quickly became the alpha of my group and is the mother hen to all of the other chams in that room and based on her actions (and reactions) to the others and other factors, I believe she is an older female. As Nick mentioned, she has been living in an iguanarium which is a huge space for her. I have found over the last few years that the very large parrot cages work well with the melleri for the times that I am not home (in my experience and for my geographical location) and are much better for their hands than the screen due to the weight of their bodies.
Fria has certainly been a wonderful part of my household and I have no doubt that she will make her mark (literally....claw marks.... she can dig pretty deep!) in Nick's house as well. I normally would not give up any of my melleri, especially ones that have been with me for so long, but I will be able to use the space with all that will be hatching soon.
Nick, I may be a "mentor", but you are/have been doing just fine and I'm positive that she will do very well under your good care.
