my one year old veiled chameleon just layed one egg...
she does not look gravid tho

she is not any bigger, her colors have not changed and she is not restless at all

she is eating normally and actually in all aspects is acting totally normal

she never laid eggs before, and I am not sure what this means.

Should I be worried?
Should I get a bucket of sand? even tho she is not gravid?

all I know is she is looking totally normal and there was one single egg on the bottom of her cage.

help?

You should have had a place in the cage for her to lay eggs from the time she was about 5 months old. Not providing her a place to lay the eggs can lead to her holding the eggs in and becoming eggbound.

Please get a container in the cage NOW. The smallest it should be is when empty, big enough for her to fit into with several inches on all sides of her including above her and below her. It should be opaque and filled about 2/3 full of moistened washed playsand. It should only be moist enough to hold a tunnel.
