One Egg Sweating?

No no, not getting excited yet, but my veiled eggs just turned 4 months old. Of my eggs, one has 2 little beads of water on it. Is it possible for only one egg to not like the humidity level? What a picky little guy if so!

What makes you think it doesn't like the humidity level? It would be more likely that it has been sitting in a slightly warmer spot in the incubator. If its truly sweating then it should be getting ready to hatch...but that's a bit too soon for it to be hatching IMHO....unless you've been incubating them at quite a warm temperature. What temperature are you incubating them at?

Can you post a photo of it please?

same thing happened to me... sweating, shrinking and not hatching with about 6 of the eggs. (they ended up going bad, but had small little chameleons growing)

i moved them into an incubator and added a little more moisture, and the rest have been stable and fine.

Just my experience, thought I'd share.

Thanks everyone for your opinions! Appreciate it. They are currently in an incubator, set at 75 F. It is one small bead of water on the largest egg. The inside of the egg is totally dark save for a main vein that can be barely seen now in development. I would post a pic, but getting a pic of the egg with my very bad camera wouldn't show you much... You probably wouldn't even see the water! I need a better camera :/ I hope no premature babies, but I guess chameleons never follow the books real well!

Checked on the egg a little bit ago, it now has some light yellow goo coming out of it. My guess is that the baby died :( Poor guy!

awwww man that sucks i just threw away like 5 of my eggs they were infertile though i incubate them from 63-77

Now a second egg has a small bead of sweat on it... Am I doing something wrong?? Eggs are currently at 76 F, in a tupperware inside of the incubator. Underside of the tupperware lid is lightly misted in order to hold in moisture (not enough moisture to drip onto the eggs). Eggs are in hatch-rite substrate with approx 40-50% of the egg cupped within the substrate. Eggs are now 4 months old, kept in the closet of my apartment on a quiet shelf that is not bothered.

did you weigh your containers after you got them all set up w/eggs?

its the best way of determining water loss.

I did not, do you have any more info about this? Sounds like something I left out. And it is a spec of water about the size of a grain of sand, but the last one that I threw out two days ago started the same way, and then leaked yellow goo after 24 hours. Last month I had one egg dent in, but after I added a little more water it puffed back up, and is doing great. Seems now as if I am having the opposite problem? :/
