sorry third and final post today. my cham seems to enjoy the light but i have a branch right under however he prefers to climb on the screen on the top of the cage and hang on underneath any ideas or is this ok? hes new. ive had him for 3 days.
hot and trying to cool off or trying to get some fresh air. This is based on what I seen of your setup in the other post.
That fish tank is not getting him the air circulation he wants, and a light shined down into it just heats the air in there as all it can do is expand and rise out.
In glass terrariums they have vents in the front down low and that creates a chimney effect is why those type of glass habits can work and fish tanks can't.
I understand yours is a temporary tank.
You should try giving him a chameleon shower to help if you worry about his hydration.
idk if hes cooling off since he got up on one side and crawled over to the center of the light. is this his way of basking right now? and is this dangerous?
he can burn his skin if he is right under the light on the screen, if the light is to close to the top and the temperature is to high..
What is the temperature of the screen top where he hangs? If its the temp of a basking spot maybe you need to up the light watts or something and get that temperature down at the basking branch. if that makes sense.
