So this is a quick sketch of the cage I'm going to build from an old bookshelf. And comments. Suggestions are very helpful!

Hey yeah! You were great insperation for this idea :) I know that you put those holes in the back for ventilation. Do you suggest me doing that...or what about the sides with huge holes that are covered with screen?

Oh, wow, thank you....that's made my day!

Well the holes were already in the one I had so I just went with those. There's ventilation holes at the bottom of mine at the back as well as at the top, so eventhough they are small, the air can still circulate.

If you want more ventilation, then bigger panels in the sides would work too.

The fact that the top section is all mesh is good, as the hot air rising out the top will draw the colder air up from the bottom (assuming you'll have ventilation near the bottom) ;)

O really. Well I think I am going to make side panels of screen. I think this is going to be very cool. But not as cool as your :p

Put a built-in planters box on the bottom somehow. I kick myself every day for not doing that when i built mine. Putting pots in your cage takes away from the beauty.

Good idea!

I don't mind the pots though. Makes changing plants easier and can just lift the pots up a bit to do a clean out ;)

I look forward to seeing the finished product.my girlfriend found a cabinet for me to modify today.I'm picking it up tomorrow I'm delighted.I'm going to build it up slowly
