Okay so I am setting up my cage and need opinions:)

Okay so i picked a Hawaii tai for my Cham and I got a vine (I’m getting a juvenile veiled chameleon I will add to it later ) and I am using fishing line to suspend the 6 foot vine and I’m wondering if they can climb it. I am worrying that he could burn himself as well as his basking spot is in the pictures below it’s 8 inches away from the light there are leaves next to it I don’t believe he can climb them there is a stim growing next to it. So any thoughts and opinions?
p.s - the last picture is the cage I’m 18 and never done carpentry I think I did well :)

Hi there... off to a good start...

You will want many more horizontal branches... the fishing line is ok but better if you anchor to the wood corners and sides.

Looks like you are using the compact UVB lighting as well so you will want to get a 24 inch T5HO fixture with a 5.0 uvb bulb.
Not familiar with that plant but this is a good plant list and has Veiled tested plants as well. Which is important because they will eat their plants. You will also want to cover the soil with 1 inch or larger in diameter rock to keep the cham from eating the soil. https://chameleonacademy.com/plants/

Okay so will the light I currently have not be effective? Or and use? And I used aluminum window screens for the cage and stapled the ends down the wood and I think hanging sticks to it will tear it so I’m currently problem solving with that rn I’m thinking about getting artificial bamboo ?

Also it’s a family of ti plants which I heard where good for Chams and I looked up to see if it was toxic for Chams and I was told it would make for a great plant

I have a Hawaiian Ti plant and my chams love it. No issues thus far.

To answer your UVB question -- correct. The bulb you have now doesn't penetrate more than a mere few inches. The T5 linear UVBs penetrate much deeper. I'll post a link to a UVB video I just finished once it's live tomorrow.

Okay so I am looking into the lighting and I’m stupid for buying that but will it work for like a 2-3 weeks ? Probably less than that

Depending what the temperatures are outside where you live, you could take them outside for a few hours a day to get fresh UVB.

No way , this is your channel right ? I have been watching lots of things on this channel, in fact this video was on my recommendation page. Also I live in Oklahoma so if I get my Cham before my light comes in I’ll take him outside for a couple of hours it gets about 75-90 I’ll just watch the cage temp and if it gets to high I’ll take him back in tell I get that light bulb
