i've been trying to get horned worms and roaches any one know a reliable vender i can get them from i also want silkies im trying to get as much as a variety as possible right now i have
meal worms
super worms
wax worms
butter worms
gut loaded crickets
house flies
fruit flies
grass hoppers ( when i can catch some)
anything else they can have .....

Be careful, I feel that a wide variety is great but there are more fatty feeders out there than nutritious ones. Just some info: meal worms, horn worms, wax worms, and butter worms are all very fatty. Many flies just don't have very much nutritional value at all, somewhat like iceberg lettuce to iguanas . Look into roaches, they are one of the only insects that are known to convert some vits into usable vits...like beta carotene into a usable vit A (please no comments on vit A). Also you may be able to find walking sticks in your area or someone who has them, but they are illegal to keep.

thankss

thanks yeah im trying to get roaches too they get about 3-4 worms a day and crickets are their main feast but i feel they need more

This is all I use Crickets, Supers,3 species of roach, and sometimes silkies. Just make shure all the feeders are gutloaded well.

mullberry farms! lol someone posted the link up there. does anyone know where we can find domestic house flies?

just be aware. mine arrived fully grown.
So, instead of pupae, i got hundreds of buzzing flies.:)

Domestic houseflies? Come on over and take all you want.

Seriously, they are not difficult to attract.

So were mine, shipping flie pupae at this time of year is very difficult because the heat speeds up their hatching cycle. the best way to move them is put them in the freezer for a couple minutes and they will go to sleep then you can move them w/o them flying all over.

problem with catching flies is that you dont know what they have been eating or where they have been.

I do give my chams field plankton. Not exclusively, but wherever possible.

That includes local houseflies. My home is pesticide free. The flies here in Borough Park are very fat, a la Jackie Mason's old routine from the 80s.

However, it is still pretty easy to breed some flies and have a good idea of what they are made of.
