OK...So he was sold to me as an Ambilobe.. Im not so sure

This guy is about 6 months old I guess now... He was sold to me as an Ambilobe female... Obviously NOT a female and his colors are having me question the Ambilobe part as well.

Most of the time he is an aqua color ... only gets the stripes when he is angry.. He is also a veracious eater as well

I was considering selling him or perhaps trading him for a female.. I already have 2 other ambilobe males... But I don't know if I can call him an ambilobe.

Have you spoken to the person you got him from? He may be able to determine, from what he had on hand at the time, just what your boy might be. Perhaps the supplier had some nosy be or ambanja panthers at the same time he sold the "female" to you? I don't know about Nosy Be, but I do know Ambanjas show that yellow lip, and some of our juvenile ambanjas show the same coloration as your guy.

He is absolutely gorgeous.

To me the Dorsal crest looks like an Ambanja to me. But wait for the pros to chime in

I hope you didn't get him from Precision Labs down in Florida, if so you could have a Hybrid of some sorts.

His Rostrum is definitely characteristic of an Ambanja. His coloration is very Ambanja like as well.

Yup I did (first and LAST time I will buy from them - - not good experience)

So I guess there is no telling what I have

Very much so. He tends to keep all the females together as juvies so they get all mixed up. If he breed one of those with one of his males you'd surely get a hybrid of some kind.

Still, a very healthy and good looking fellow ya have there.

same exact thing happened to me. get in contact with the person you bought him from. i did and i'm getting a $100 discount on another male when i can afford a whole new setup and my current cham's health improves.

Its a blue bar ambanja the same thing happened to me i bought a "blue bar" panther chameleon and it looked just like yours and after i did some research i figured out it was an ambanja
