not eating...

OK...So Raine is once again making me worry. She has not been eating at all the last three days. Now she is just finishing up a full body shed and I have been giving her extra mistings with warm water. I also have a dripper cup that I have drip several times a day. She is still active and runs from the spray but will drink if i let her sit on my finger and drip water onto her nose. I made her a new feeding cup today and put in dusted crickets and a few phoenix worms but she didn't touch them. Tonight she has been acting a bit strange. She was asleep and I don't know why but she woke up and started reaching out with her back leg trying to find a branch. she had her eyes open just a tiny bit and when she couldn't find a branch to grab onto she just left her leg hanging in mid air. I probably shouldn't have but I moved her onto her tree and she went right back to sleep. Tomorrow I think I will give her a nice shower and then try to feed her again. Maybe I can get her to eat a worm or worm juice. Any suggestions on what I should do? She is so small and we are going on a 4 hour road trip Thursday. If the weather is nice tomorrow I am going to take her outside to get some fresh air.

Thanks in advance,
Virginia:confused:

I am sure this is in another thread but what kind of cham is she and how old is she?

Without info here are a couple ideas. Offer food from your hand one item at a time. To many at a time may make the choices too hard and she will not eat. If that doesn't work, put just on or 2 food items in her cup. Is the cup easy for her to get food out of?

Check her lights, is she warm? How about water? Does she have an automatic water system? If not get a large container, put a tiny pin hole and have it drip as much of the day as possible. I use a gallon milk jug as they drip a good while.

Hope she starts eating but they do love to worry us.

OK..Sorry info is in another post but I'll put it down again...no problem at all. Raine is a female Veiled Chameleon aprox. 2 months old. I have had her since 2/14/2013 and had her to the vet on 2/25/2013 for an eye infection. She is housed in a 18X18X36 all screen enclosure. She has a 5.0 REPTISUN UVB blulb and I use a 65 W house hold bulb for heat. Basking spot 54-85*F and humidity ranges between 20-80% depending on where in the cage and when. Night temps. get into the high 60s to low 70s. No night time lights. Has one live hibiscus and lots of fake vines and a large piece of sanded grapevine that goes from bottom to almost top of cage. Calcium w/ d3 every feeding and calcium w/ d3 on the 15th and 30th of each month. Gut load her feeders with mixed freeze dried fruit, sweet potato baby food, and other fresh fruits and veggies that I have in the fridge. ( she has only been eating small crickets but I just saw her eat her first phoenix worm....super excited...knew she was just trying to make me worry). I guess I just need to make sure to keep her well misted. I do have a drip system (red solo cup with holes) that I put ice in when i leave for work at 6:30am and I'm not sure how long that lasts. I'm def. gonna try the gallon milk jug and see if that helps. I have hols drilled on bottom of cage so water will drain into a bucket under her cage.

Thanks so much,
Virginia

Not to worry, you care about her. You will find yourself worrying again. Even if she is ok a bit or reassurance is always good. That is part of what we are here for, to tell each other that sometimes things are ok.
