Not Chameleons, but,...

I know some other people have mentioned sharing other reptile pictures on the forum in the past; Well- today me, my good friend and his son decided to take one last foray into the 'Wilds of Alabama' before Autumn tightens it's grip. We got 4 big Cottonmouths! Here's me with one of the 'honkers'- He was at least 2 1/2 feet long and as you can see- VERY FAT!!!!

Absolutely awesome! I love snakes, but the feeding I cannot live with. I have had 3 ball pythons, and find them just fascinating. Love the chams more though:).

Yeah, they're venomous. I've always loved reptiles and I've spent my whole life out in the field catchin' reptiles and amphibians.

Looks like it was a good trip! Ill pick up non venomous snakes. Knowing my luck I would get bit. As far as venomous up here there are only copperheads and timber rattlers but some neat non venomous. I mostly go looking for amphibians though.

Where was my invite. LOL. i cant do the venomous thing, I caught a Black Rat Snake yesterday:D.

What did you do with them??

We just do the catch/photograph/release thing nowadays. Back when we were kids we'd drag 'em home and make our parents a nervous wreck! Plus, in September of 2000, an ordinance was passed that outlawed possession of venomous reptiles in the state of Alabama. We still go hunting whenever our schedules allow us- but no more keeping Cottonmouths!

If I knew you would be up for it, I'd have called ya!!! It's fun- we see and catch lots of other things when we go down to Pine creek. Don't think there will be too many more warm days left this year, but if you'd like to go it's fun.
