Normal Jackson's color?

I got a Jackson's chameleon from a local reptile store about 3 months ago, and as far as I can tell he is healthy. He has a basking light and one of those UVA/UVB lights on him for about 12 hours out of the day. I feed him 6-8 fairly large crickets every day, and he gobbles them up. The temperature in his cage is usually around 78 degrees, and the humidity 60 to 85%. I give him calcium three times a week and multivitamins once a month, plus I gutload his crickets. He's happy as far as i can tell and he drinks off his leaves all the time. The only thing I'm even the least bit concerned about is that he's never all green, except when he sleeps. He is usually a pattern of brown and bright green. I almost never handle him (though I would like to). Are these colors healthy?

Thank you so much! Answers to some of the other stuff:
I don't know exactly how old he is, but I'm pretty sure he is almost an adult. Right now he's nine and one half inches long from tip of horns to end of tail.
I usually feed him 3 to 5 crickets in the morning and 3 or 4 more in the afternoon.
I gutload my crickets with fresh oranges, collard greens, potatoes, some Fluker's cricket diet, and some sort of grainy cricket diet I get at the local pet store.
I mist him heavily at least 3 times a day and I see him drinking often.
Uhh... I guess his droppings are normal looking, though he has never been tested for parasites.
His cage is 18" by 18" by 36" and it is all screen.
I have a Reptisun 5.0 on top and a 60 watt basking light on him.
I have a coleus that he climbs in and munches on sometimes, and a small asparagus fern.
His cage is located about 3 feet above the ground, but under a vent. Not in high traffic.
I am in central Texas.

Also my avatar photo was actually when he just woke up. He is normally the colors in the other photo.

Collard greens should be used very sparingly. Grains are usually not the best choice for gutload. I highly recommend sandrachameleon's blog, which has a lot of entries about gutloads - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/

Ok, you're on the right track :) Suggestions are in red
Also, do you use calcium with d3? This should be the same schedule as multivit.
May I ask what other photo you're talking about

your temps in your cage sound a little high? if that's basking than that's fine. he may be too warm. mine stay nice and green at about 70-72.
