Noob Questions?

Hello everyone I'm new here and have some questions. I decided to change the lighting in my baby Panther Chameleon's "which I have named Señor Avocado" cage from the stock Zoomed dual compact that came in reptibreeze starter kit to a Zilla Slimlight w/ 25 W T8 fluorescent bulb and a clamp light with a 50W basking spot light. I was wondering what the difference is between a basking spot light and the daylight blue bulb? Also can I get some feedback on my setup? It's kind of bare right now but I have a live ficus on the way. I'll post a picture if I can. Any criticism, positive or negative, is much appreciated so I can give this little guy a great life.

Thank you everyone!

Benjamin

Love the name!! Aside from what you already addressed. Not enough leaf cover. Chameleons tend to spend most of their time hanging out on horizontal branches. You need a lot more. He should be able to get anywhere in his enclosure by his little highway of branches and vines. Juveniles seem to love to climb the screens but as they get bigger this is not a good thing. It can rip out their nails. The screens are really too small for their feet but if you don't have enough ways for them to travel then they don't have any other way to get around. When you think you have way to many branches crisis crossing across that cage you probably just barely have enough.:D One last thing. I don't have any personal experience with this but I've read on this forum that using the smooth dowels isn't the greatest idea. You should use real branches or something a bit rougher, if it's too smooth they can slip. It's also a good idea to use a variety of widths so that the feet are exercised the way they would be in the wild.

Sorry, I never answered your question. Blue bulb is just a basking heat bulb made for reptiles,it's more money then a regular light bulb. I think the blue bulb might be 100 watts (a bit high for a baby) They are both basking heat lights they do not provide UVB.
