Enclosure:
18x18x36 Aluminum Screen Cage
Basking temp
87F
Humidity:
50%

Note: Adding real vines (Pothos), branches, and mister. Will adjust rest of temp and humidity levels as soon as I get advice.

Question:
1. What is the appropriate Basking Temp?
2. What is the appropriate Humidity levels?
3. Is there any brand or specific bulb I should use for basking?
4. Does the basking lamp stay on all day?
5. Does the UVA lamp stay on all day?
6. How difficult is it to breed crickets and how?
7.

Help:
I'll be getting my little guy Sept 12 and would love to have my environment setting up to par.

I'll be adding photos of my setup as soon as I figure it out.

Thank you,
Robin A.

Welcome to the chameleon forums! I have a blog attached below for new keepers. It will help you to get off to the right start with your new panther.
Most of your questions are answered in my blog....except for maybe raising crickets. I buy my crickets from Lazy H Cricket Farm. Brad, the ownwer is such a nice man and a pleasure to buy from. Give him a call. I find it much easier than trying to breed. (863) 675-3109

Welcome to the forums! Read JannB's blog and it will answer most of your questions. Try and keep your humidity at around 50% and then when you mist your cage it will rise and then fall again. Mist atleast three times a day for 3-5 minutes. This will raise the humidity and provide drinking. You can also run a dripper and use live plants to help maintain humidity. Some people use humidifiers, but depending on your home and where you live you may never need to go to that extreme. UVA and your basking bulb are one in the same. You need both UVB and UVA lighting. 12 hours on/12 off is what most of do. Good luck and post pics of your set up and chameleon when he arrives. You are getting him on my mom's birthday! :D

Where are you getting him from? What locale is he? (ambilobe, ect.) I'm waiting on my first panther as well, if you're gettin yours from kammers we might be getting siblings. For my lights I just went to walmart and got a cheep outlet timer. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just one with 2 plugs.

Getting mine from Sarah777 and he is 4 months Male Nosy X. I'm excited and here is what my cage looks like.

Got the temp at 82F and the humidity at 60%

Note: As soon as I get my mister I'll adjust humidity to be around in the mid 70's

Thank you guys for the encouraging words and advice.

Robin A.

What kind of a plant is that? I would recommend more vines and branches. I like Sarah777. You should be getting a very nice cham.
