Hey guys,

I am new to chameleons and have a couple questions regarding the enclosure.
We bought two 1month old veiled chameleons (about a month ago) from a local reptile room. The people there sold us a male and female and acted like it was no big deal keeping them in the same enclosure. For Christmas my wife bought a 24x24x48 DIYcage. My question, is this too large for two 2month old chameleons? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

they should be housed separately for each other to prevent stress and the cage you have is too big for them. the cage you have houses a adult . so you need 2 small enclosures with a piece of card board between so they cant see each other.

Hello, welcome to the forum :) Once they get to 3 months old they really should be housed separately. They will grow surprisingly fast and that cage size is the smallest you want for an adult male Veiled. The one you have now is ok for very short term, as long as you offer plenty of small insects like pinhead crickets and fruit flies. They should be gutloaded and Calcium dusted.
Here is a great basic caresheet for keeping Veileds - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html
