Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum and new to "proper" Chameleon Husbandry. I had a chameleon ages ago (before the internet) and it didn't go well from the lack of proper information on caring for these beauties.

I decided to try it again, armed with the information I have gathered here and anything that google finds for me (anyone with any good book suggestions will be much appreciated).

Here is my male (who I bought from Picaso, who purchased it from FLChams).

I believe he is an 11 month old Ambilobe.

And I decided to get him a boy toy...a female ambilobe

She is half his size, but eats twice as much. She is alway going to the front of her cage to pluck a morsel from my fingers.

Happy New Year,
Manny

Thanks, the female is 4-5 months old. I wasn't sure what to look for as far as females go, so I picked one that did not "freak" when I approached. She looks to have a fairly good temperment and is not shy at all.
The male escaped the other day as I went to get more paper towels and did not latched the door (it sticks so I thought it was good enough for the short period). He was halfway across the room heading towards her cage.
I will probably introduce them in the summer, but for now I am gonna have to keep a closer eye on him.;)

generally people on this site seem to wait til the female is over a year old as a rule of thumb for panthers---- I have an Ambilobe male myself but haven't gotten seup for a lady yet ;p
