Hey everyone,
For starters I just wanted to introduce myself since i am new to this whole forum. About 10 days ago I rescued a male veiled chameleon (est 8-10 months) from a not so good living situation and immediately fell in love. I did my research and have a nice setup for him but i am concerned about one thing that i cannot find a straight answer for online. First off my chameleon, Bubby, is very active and friendly. The main thing i am concerned about though is his fluid intake. I have read online that a sign of dehydration is mostly sunken eyes and bright yellow/orange urate. Since i got him I have only seen him drink about 3 times and his urate is a light yellow/white which is concerning me. For the time being i have been feeding him super worms temporarily (starting crickets today) and i also heard that could be a reason for the light yellow color, but i want to make sure he is hydrated. His eyes are not sunken in and he isn't lethargic but like i said i haven't seen him drink much at all. Today i was wondering if i should try to showering technique to maybe help him along? Anyone with advice on this topic please please please fill me in! I'm not sure if i am just being paranoid but i don't want this to get beyond repair.
