Cage: 10 gal. All wire.
Lighting:50-watt UVA Zoo med repti basking spot lamp, One 50-watt R-zilla Incandescent night black heat bulb for the night, And 18-inch Zoo med reptisun 5.0 uvb.I leave both uva and uvb on all day, until like about 9:30 or 10:00pm i turn off the UVB and put night bulb.
Temp: Humidity is kept from 65 to 95 and temp is kept above 80, I live in los angeles so i guess this isnt that difficult to deal with..
I have a little dripper dripping off and on and at same time i mist the cage with a hand sprayer a couple times through out the day.I also have the vita-spray which i spray once a day on my cham.
Plants: i have one live plant, i have no idea what it is, But it has colorful leaves that really make the area stand out, One ficus, and one fake plant.
Location: A low lit bedroom music studio, No high traffic, just me.But loud music! thats all.
Food: crickets, The crickets eat carrot or apple.Sometimes see him drinking water off leaves or from dripper.
I have a rudis cham, And i believe its a she. I will post up a pic of ocelot and his home soon.
First off, You do not need the night lamp. Chams need a cooling down period. As long as it does not go below about 60. So remove that. Also you should try to match the natural times it is daylight. Like 7am -7pm or 8am - 8PM.
I am a little concerned about the plant with the colorful leaves. Please post a pic. Some plants can be toxic to Chams and could kill or harm him.
I would also recommend buying some gut load for your Crickets, It provides a lot more vitamins. They should also be dusted with calcium and vitamins using a schedule.
Ok, did you say that you have another chameleon in addition to the rudis? What kind is it? If it happens to be a veiled, you need to be especially cautious about the plant. They munch on their foliage and a colorful plant often means a poisionous one. Go with something like a scheffellera or a ficus (weeping fig). They are easily obtainable at any local nursery. Even if you don't have a veiled, you should get a safe plant. My panther munches on his leaves.
Ryan is definitly right about the light on at night, that should go.
And a 12 hour lighting period is also best like Ryan said. I use 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If it is just a Rudis that you have, above 80 may be a little warm for the critter. Rudis tend to like cooler temperatures and a gradient of heat through the cage from 65-70 in the cooler spots to 80 in the basking spot is best.
