New to chameleons....need advice

I have a 18"x18"x36" Reptobreeze enclosure that i am preparing.
i need to know what species to look into as well as where i can find a good automatic mister or what i need to build one

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. I keep veileds and they are rewarding and a pleasure to keep. For your first chameleon I would recommend a male veiled or panther. If you need an automatic mister I would recommend Mist King. I am attaching my blog for new keepers below. Don't veiled and/or panther get too big for my enclosure? lol i would have gone right to the veiled (have experience with them) or jacksons (able to get a breeding pair going at the pet store i work at) but the little bit of research i did suggested carpets are best for my enclosure

I do have needed cage sizes in my blog. That size will work well until 8 to 10 months old and then he would need no smaller than 48 high. Each chameleon will need it's own enclosure.

unfortunately i can't upgrade my enclosure so i need something that can stay in this cage could i do a Jackson or do i have to do a Carpet
i don't plan on keeping any together unless i could do so lol

ps. i couldn't find the cage size recommendation on your blog could you post the link and tell me where to look?

Second paragraph but this cage requirement is for veileds and panthers. Since I only keep veileds Panthers and a Parsonii I am not sure of the cage requirement for a jackson or Carpet.

Panthers and Veileds aren't as demanding as other chams, usually you start out with a smaller cage and upgrade to a larger cage no matter which type of cham you decide to go for. Are you looking into an adult or a baby? The reason you start out with a smaller cage is so your baby will be able to find its food. If you stick to your cage, you'll have to make sure your cham is eating and will easily to be able to access food.

all my research is pointing to a carpet chameleon i have a 18X18X36 screen cage and i don't believe i can put anything other than that in there i need this cage to accommodate the cham from baby through adulthood cause i have a space issue

I have been researching quite a bit on Jacksons because I really want to get one and lots of web sites say that 18x18x36 is the smallest you can go for an adult. So u probably could get a Jacksons Chameleon in there.

I believe Hoehnelii would work for that size cage. TikiTiki has or had some CB babies for sale. I would say that your cage would be perfect for them since they are a relatively smaller species, although I myself have never kept them so maybe speak with someone who has on their specific space requirements.
They are also a montane species that require high humidity and cooler temps though, But I think if you can meet those requirments then they are awesome looking chams.
