This weekend my fiance and I happened upon a few chams at a renaissance festival here in Florida. There were three together in very small quarters and one seemed very distressed. We asked about her and found that it was a female graceful about two years old. The other two were veiled. We just couldn't leave this little girl to be harassed by these other two for any longer. We decided to bring her home. We have talked before about getting one but had not done so as we knew that there was much work involved. So here we are with this little girl we went straight to a reptile store on the way home however nobody was very knowledgeable I seemed to know more about them then the staff but not much. She has a voracious appetite and will eat anything in her path. Should she be restricted to a certain amount of food?
her basking spot temp is 90F and the bottom of her terr. reads 70F are these parameters safe?
humidity ranges form 70-90 where should they be?
when she is in her basking spot she will gape her mouth slightly for may be 30 to 60 seconds, stop for a few minutes and do this again. Is this okay? why might she be doing this?
we have had her three days and she has not had a bowel movement yet. She is still eating as much as we will feed her, and she does drink quite a bit. When should we start to worry about constipation?
