hey everyone just became a member pretty excited i just got my first panther cham and looking forward to getting great advice from you all and seeing some awsome pics i also wanted to know if when feeding my cham hornworms do you need to use a calcium sup:confused: any info thanks

Hi and welcome to the forums!! Most people only feed hornworms as treats because they are fatty and can cause your cham to gain weight so you definitely need to dust your primary feeders such as crickets or roaches with calcium without D3 Daily. Also, you need to post some pics of your panther so we can see how cute hi is :)

When you click on the Post Reply to the thread..click on the paperclip by the smile face at the top of the box. A pop up box will appear and you can download the picture from your own computer or a URL address from your picture hosting site. I hope this helps :)

Welcome to the forum!

Unless hornworms make up a large part of your chameleons diet, you dont really need to calcium supplement them.

Contrary to what was said above, the information I have suggests hornworms are NOT particularily fatty, btw.

...Most people only feed hornworms as treats because they are fatty and can cause your cham to gain weight so ...

can you point me to some nutritional analysis to support this? All the information I have suggests Hornworms are NOT fatty.

Are you perhaps thinking of superworms (which do have a high fat content)
