It looks a little bright but I would focus on maybe providing a few more hide spots for your friend. Maybe the bright light wont be so bad if you get some more foilage in there? Also, be careful to not cook the cham in that cage, I've seen cages that small heat up quick with very little effort on the part of the bulb!
The thermometer probe is like 4 inches from the ground. I thought you said you put it at her highest basking point.
Which would be the upper right hand corner where she can climb up the vines and sit under the light. This is what I meant.
It might be 85 way down there, but I guarantee you up where she can reach it it is blazing.
Chameleons tend to bask from the top of their cage, not from the bottom, unless I am totally mistaken.
It looks to me like your using a CFL at he top left of the cage. That isn't a good idea. What is the wattage on the main big azz heat lamp? is that a normal spot lamp?
you also might want to add some more things for you cham to climb on. You also don't want any substrate.
The last thread, I believe they said the basking lamp was 100 watts, Kevin.
I thought it was too hot myself, but you can probably offer a more informed opinion.
Also, there was no reason to start an entirely new thread ronnie. You could have continued the old one with a new post, so that users could see old information easily available as opposed to hunting it down through your history.
sorry about starting the new thread!still getting the hang of posting on here!i will move things around to day and post some pic's later on!thanks for the help again...i will also get a lower watt bulb
