So I need honest opinions on my set up. I'm just starting on it and I know it needs more cover and foliage but is it a decent start? Any pointers are appreciated :) Just got a new female. Not sure on the age. She can't be more than 3 or 4 months old I wouldn't think. Also does my light look ok? The temp is definitely where it needs to be. I Have my UVB on the left and the basking light on the right.

Welcome to the Forums! Congratulations on the new veiled. You're correct about the foliage, more is better. Also, get live plants. It will really help with the humidity levels being more easily maintained. I would also add branches...vertical and horizontal. You're off to a good start. Are you familiar with supplementing? That will be important and it won't be too long before you will need to have a laying bin in the enclosure for her. Congratulations and I can't wait to watch her grow here on the Forums!

Thank you no I am not familiar with supplementing and I don't know what a laying bin is. Could you explain please?:) Also is my lighting correct?

Your lighting is fine for now, however when your UVB goes bad in about 6 months I would consider getting a tube UVB light instead of the CFL it is more efficient, and spreds the light more evenly. The suplimentation is a calcium without d3 at every feeding, with d3 twice a month, and a multivitamin twice a month. It is very important she get these or she will get a very bad condition known as MBD which is her bones weakening and even breaking.

Your light will be fine for now, but I would change to a tub UVB after this one expires. They are much more efficient and distribute the UVB much better.
The supplementation is a calcium that must be given at each feeding or she will develop MBD. The schedule is with d3 twice a month, multivitamin twice a month, and without d3 every other feeding. here is what they look like. 097612103625C.jpg 097612134032C.jpg Zoo-Med_Repti-Calcium-without-D3-8-oz_77568.jpg reptisun10-500x500.jpg 097612134032C.jpg Zoo-Med_Repti-Calcium-without-D3-8-oz_77568.jpg reptisun10-500x500.jpg

Sorry about the redundancy of the photos still getting used to this new pic upload. Could have sworn I only hit the button once!

I well get on that asap and get the supplements tmrow! Thank you very much :) She is eating quite a few crickets and is just starting to figure out the dripper. Tho she smacks the water droplets with her tongue like they're bugs....she's getting there :) Now does the supplementing schedule change as they get older or just stick to that one?
