So i have a 6 month old Yemen Chameleon , At the moment hes doing fantastic and looking beautiful,
But...

We are updating his viv to a 100cm high x 65cm wide x 48 cm deep,

we are worried about his heating and lighting situation,
We Live in the UK so its always cold hes got a terririum to keep the heat in better rather than a screen cage!

Please help with lighting and heating!
At the moment his vivs pretty small and has a exo terra compact top with an repi glo 5.0 UVB bulb 26W
And a fan Heater that he loves.

Need help with this new set up!!!

Please dont use tech talk :)

Please make sure his area is well ventilated! Chams can have all sorts of problems being in a glass container.

Your lighting seems fine, the UVB is great for the smaller environment. Take a temperature reading @ his basking spot to find out if he will be warm enough!

We originally were planning on using a glass terrarium for the same reasons, though we decided to purchase a small space heater and plug it in near his cage. Having the temperature outside his area just a bit warmer has really helped maintain the cage.

I have read a few articles about keeping chams in glass enclosures, and as long as you keep an eye out to make sure that the humidity level doesn't stay to high, I don't think it is an issue.

Here is an article on here that put my mind at rest:

Hope it all works out!

Thanks Guys, Weve had him in a exo terra viv for a few months and has been fine,
The new viv where building is having a screen top and about 6 or 7 vents for air flow.

where looking into putting a live plant inside, but worried because where going to need more heat to warm the cage and more uva/uvb bulbs but not sure how many to get,

ive looked into getting another compact top witch can hold 3 uvb bulbs and then drop and infra red buld with a cage around it into the viv???

dont want to make any mistakes, i love my lill man
