New cage for my new Panther :)

I just got my baby ambilobe from Chameleons Northwest on Wednesday. I named him Kamish (I got it from Kamish bread, it is so delicious so if you've never had it I would suggest looking up a recipe, baking it, and enjoy!) Anyways, he is 6 months old and his sire is Zippey. He is an eating machine! He ate a cricket from my hand yesterday-just one day after I got him- and 2 from my hand today!

I think he isn't quite used to a cage this big because he shot his tongue out at a cricket a couple of times today and right as it was about to snag the cricket his tongue just stopped because it wasn't long enough :( He is starting to get the idea though and moving around to hunt them and getting them with no problem.

First off good choice on the ll reptile cage. Is it the 2>2>4? That's the one I have. Since you just got him I understand as to why your cage isn't so full. Over the next few days id sugest adding more live plants for coverage. Id say get a nice big shafflera arbicol and pot it in organic fertalizer free soil and plop it in the middle of that cage.....but awsome choice on the ll reptile....they are fabulas, your chams beautiful.

Thank you! Yes it is the 2x2x4. I have a pothos in the back left corner and the other plant at the bottom actually is a schefflera arbicola. I put it in the cage a few days before I got him and since no chameleon was in there I didn't turn the lights on the cage which I think did some damage on it. I had to test all of the leaves and take a bunch out so that my little guy wouldn't try to walk on them and fall because they broke off. The big branches are still sturdy though so I'm hoping that with time it will grow back. I'll wait a little while and see how it looks and if it keeps going downhill then I'll just go get another.

I was also thinking of going to walmart and getting a fake pothos vine to put in for a little more coverage. My boyfriend got a few for his chameleon and they work very well for coverage and hold water really well for being fake.
