Hi all, new to this site. Kept exotics many years here in uk. Got our first chameleons yesterday.
The guy I bought them off said he had 2, a male and female who are 10 week old male and 6 week old female.
He also had a set up to come with them. I obviously knew when they get bigger ill house the seperatley.
Anyway. When I met him I was disappointed. He gave me a glass fish tank no more than 1 foot long, wide and deep. No lighting, heating, nothin!
Luckily I have spare uv bulbs, and heat bulbs, but the set up is not ideal and I'm looking for a suitable enclosure.
My problem is I've also noticed the female has the end of her tail nipped off. It's red and looks soar. Should I soak it? We have repti heal, but would like advice first.
Also she's not eaten yet today, is this common? She's smaller than the male, and I'm worried he's going to bully her, so as soon as I find new enclosures they will be separated.
Please can I have some advice.
And if anyone suggests I should have researched before hand, I have! I was under the impression from the breeder they were healthy and the housing I was getting was big enough and had everything! I couldn't leave them as I'd travelled a long way and felt I could give them better care!
Thanks
