Hi all,

I havnt posted on here in a little while so thought id take the oppertunity to say hello and ask a couple of questions.

HELLO!!! lol

Ok, I recently bought a 2 year old Ankaramy panther cham. Im wondering, his cask seems a little larger than any Ive seen before. Is this normal? I will post some pics up later and show you what i mean. The crest around his nose and head is way bigger than what ive seen anywhere, ive even searched the gallery section on here to try find a cham with the same size cask and crest. Do these bits grow larger the older they get? My ambilobe is 1 year old now. Never had an adult before. George is my first cham, Johnny the Ankaramy is my third. i did have a female but I decided to take her back to the shop as i am not allowed to breed on a military camp!

Anyway. Thanks for any response, i will post pics in a couple hours, just gotta charge my camera!

Sounds like you got a nice stud there.
I'm sure all is normal.

Just wondering, how in the world a military base could stop animals from having sex...as in you not allowed to breed?
After all, when I was in the army, they couldn't stop us people from having sex.

Now if you are single and not a family that has housing, then I'm surprised you are allowed pets at all.
Yet if you are in a family housing unit, who would even know?

Harry

Hi,

as promised, here are the pics of Johnny.

Im not allowed to breed as to do so would mean i have to register as a small business and pay taxes to the German goverment. Its too much of a pain to register so its best to just not breed. The military laws baffle me sometimes!!! lol

So, does everything look normal then?

75 views and nobody comments?

I think his cask looks different but thats JMO. Anyone care to share their thoughts?

That is perfectly normal and he look completly normal. Awesome colors for an ankaramy.

Cool, thanks. I was a little worried that he might have a slightl deformed head! lol.

I think his colours are pretty plain in comparison to most ive seen on here. he looks quite grey most of the time. Is there anything that actually promotes coloration in Chameleons or is it purely genetics? meybe i should start a new thread.

I think what your talking about are his fat pads on his head. Yes, they are big. But he's an older cham and they get bigger as they mature and their metabolism slows. He is a nice looking Ank, love the blue on his face and along his back. If you want to see him really fire up take him outside in the sun or you could briefly take in front of a mirror. He will show some flaming pinks then.

Just like any panther every ankaramy will look a little different. Some will show more colors then others even though there the same breed. I know mine stays pepto pink and has teal running through his spikes and casqe. Yours looks good and normal so you have nothing to worry about. Enjoy him! My Karma that's his name is my favorite of all my guys and 1 girl baby I have!
