Need to vent/New AC units

What a rotten day.... and what better place to vent than a public forum huh?

Maybe a little over a month ago I purchased a brand-spankin' new portable A/C to keep the room with my eggs cool as I was no longer confident in the crappy little window a/c unit I can fit in that room's only window. My next door neighbors have a super highpowered window unit so my eggs have been over there for the last couple months or so of hotter weather. I was finally confident that my new unit could handle a super hot day (and got worried by their door being open for a while too long Tuesday afternoon for me to be comfortable with it) so I brought all the eggs back home LAST night. When I got home today at 3pm my month-old AC was dead, and it was 91 degrees in the room. I immediately ran them next door to the neighbor's place, but have no idea how long the room was that warm.

I haven't actually tried to hatch anything in like 5 years and the thought of losing 4 panther clutches and the first 3rd generation of Furcifer major in the US has me feeling absolutely heartbroken. Gotta love the irony though....thanks Universe ;)

That's the kind of situation that runs through my mind and causes me to have to do deep breathing exercises (no lie) sometimes when I'm away from the house for very long.

If it helps you feel any better- our eggs are kept in the feeder room (normally a pretty constant 78 degrees) and it got to 91 or 92 degrees one day when I was gone all day and the weather first turned warm. I was totally panic stricken. I made the necessary adjustments. Anyway, 2 veiled clutches and 1 Sambava panther clutch hatched just fine after that incident. The other 5 clutches in that room still look great.

I have had my incubator creep up to 83F several times this summer and no losses so far. With luck , you might still hatch the majority of your eggs .
Good Luck

i had the last batch of veiled eggs i hatched go up to 94 degrees {bad incubator} for a few hours when i was at work but 3 months later all but one hatched i think yours will be fine they are surprisingly resiliant

Thanks very much for the encouraging responses everyone. I haven't had this happen before so it was nice to hear it's happened to you guys without any ill effects. I've got my fingers crossed that they weren't exposed to those temps for too long so I'll just keep waiting and see.
