Need to know about mistkings

So I went to their site today and did some research but what I cant seem to find is how far the "starter system" will carry water vertically. I have never worked with diaphragm pumps, only standard pond pumps and with those I know their carrying compacity is limited. My cages are about 6ft from the floor to the top of the cage. They are raised about 18 inches ( which is where I will be hiding the mistking)

I have 2 velieds in costum built cages. The cages are wood with screen front so I am concerned the wood will slowly become destroyed due to moisture. The wood is not sealed, I just have a back drop covering all 3 sides.

I also have 2 bearded dragons, a paldrarium, a african spurthigh ( desert) tortoise, and 2 tropical redfooted tortoises. The system says it can run 10 nozzels with this pump provided in the starter system. I was curious if any of you have used it for other reptiles with success? If so, I would need alot more hose!! lol.

Heres a link to the system I'm looking at.

i have the ultimate value system so i can't vouch for the starter system but i haven't seen anyone w/ the starter system on the forum complain about the pump not being able to reach to the height that your cage is at. i'm sure you'll be fine running it with your cham and other animals.

i love mine and i've had it since i first got my chams. so glad not to have to had to hand mist my chams...i'd have giant forearms!!!

you can also wait for marty to reply to this thread or you pm him as well. super nice and helpful guy.

yeah Marty is the guy to talk to. I also just got a mistking. the system works great. like rottsko said, I have the ultimate and its pumping water almost 7 feet up. I think the pump will work for you. but again wait for Marty.

also check out aquazamp an there raindome its in the USA with USA made stuff...kevin will answer any questions ya got bout misting...

ok great,...i was just concerned with the height since it wasnt the largest pump. But agian I havent worked with diaphragm pumps and they sound a lot stronger than other standard pumps.

Thanks for the help!

aquazamp all the way...very satisfied with my choice, and got great service! super helpful people over at aquazamp

The diaphram pumps in misting systems are high pressure, low flow. This is why they can move water vertically with not much issue. There isn't much weight in a tube that is only 1/8" inside diameter. Very low volume.
