i just got my chameleon from screameleons. he is a beautiful nosy be panther who is jsu tbaout to be turning 5 months. i got the screameleons starter kit an dit came with everything. i am scared that he is goign to soon outgrow his starte cage (18 X 12 X 20) should i upgrade it to to an adult size cage? what size cage? also i have one thermestat should i add another tot he center of the cage to have an ambient temp recorded?
also i would liek to know what wattage bulb would work best for my chameleon to bask in as well as giving off enough heat to cover the ambient temp of the whole cage. ALSOOO lol, if that can not be down what otehr source of heat cna i use to make him feel at home.?

In a month or two he can go into a 2x2x4 cage (or even now if you want, but you have to make sure he's eating) ambient temp should be around 70 but can be a few degrees higher or lower. I use a 40 watt bulb 6-8 inches away from the basking spot in a 65 degree room to get the basking to about 80-83. If your house is like mine and super cold, you can add lower watt bulbs on the top to keep the top half around 70 and the basking spot around 80-85 and the rest of the cage colder. The top of the cage may be a bit crowded though!

he is most definately eating. he eats about 8-10 on average a day. does any one know where to get some nice adult size cages wher eyou can easily access the bottom of the cage to make maintanance easier cause the on ei have now you have to stick your hads in and tak eout the plants..etc.

thanks for the site!. i jsut dont feel like the bulb im using is strong enough.. i really dont know..
