Need help with setup.

Hey guys and gals I'm a newbie to chameleons and was wondering if I could get some suggestions on my setup. I have a 100 gal Exo Terra Flexarium which is 30"x16.5"x48". I have a habbamist ready to go (yes I've read that alot of you don't like them but I'm going to give it a shot. My veiled cham came in today and when I get my viv set up I'll be popping him in there.

My main question was about lighting. I plan on getting the exo terra light cycle unit. I was wondering what exo terra tubes I should use for it. I also have a clamp light for a basking spot, I was wondering the best bulb to use for that as well. I heard a Exo terra heat-glo infared light would work well so I can keep it on during the night. Is this a good idea or no? Thanks guys.

You must use a reptisun 5.0 flourescent tube, it is by far the most reliable/affective UVB bulb on the market. You should not have a lamp on overnight, unless for some reason it gets very very cold (chameleons can handle cold temperatures, unlike some other reptiles). For heat bulbs I use regular house bulbs (soft-white incandescent); they last much longer then pet-brand bulbs.

you dont have to go with reptiSUN like everyone here recommends. they are just a fad favorite lol. it's all in YOUR preference, exo-terra or zoo-med will do as long as it is a 5.0! like the last post said, only leave your lights on during the night if it gets colder than recommended the chams temp drop. then yes you an infra red, for the enclosure size, perhaps an exo-terra (since it seems you like the prod so much ) 100W incandesant would heat it up great, im using a 50W i believe for the time being and i have a 38 flexarium. anyways. good luck and anymore

i reccomend using a ZOOMED REPTISUN 10.0 for uvb and a ZOOMED REPTISUN 2.0 for plant & visual light.

you can use those 2 together with the light cycle unit

i recommend the 10.0 because the flexariums filter alot of the UVB so 10.0 would be more appropriate

for heat, I recommend this

it is good because it provide heat more energy efficiently and provides full spectrum lighting

the wattage you use depends on where you live. where do you live??

dont use a light for night heat, chams prefer a night time temperature drop

Wouldn't the plant benefit from the 10.0? I have a 5.0 for UVB and I'm looking into grow lights... Wouldn't the 5.0 benefit the cham and plant?

A reptisun 10.0 would be good for your cage since it's made from thick mesh. A normal household incandescent bulb will work for a basking light. Adult veileds can handle temps into the 50s so no night time heat will be needed u less it gets that low. I wouldn't let a baby go lower than 60 though. If you need extra heating get a space heater or a ceramic bulb.
