I have 1 male and 2 female panther chameleons and females are 25cm
and they are 9month old (got it from Zen Reptiles).
So I want to know if its ok to breed them (male is 2 years old and about 45cm).
Also I want to know when is best time to breed
and how long it takes to lay egg
and what should I use bedding? and where I can get them.
Thats it so if you tell me this things Ill be happy :D

I haven't breed my chams yet, but most people don't recommend breeding untill a female is at least one year old.

I usually recommend not breeding a panther chameleon female until she is a year old.

It takes approximately 30 days from the successful mating until the eggs are laid...but it can vary.

As for the actual breeding...you have to leave that up to the chameleons. If you hold the female outside the male's cage so they can see each other their reactions will tell you whether to mate them or not. If the female sways back and forth, gapes, hisses, darkens her colors, etc. Then she is NOT ready to mate. If she appears calm and moves slowly away from the male and doesn't darken her colors then she is likely receptive and if the male appears not your be aggressive towards her then you can put them together. If you put them together, watch them for a bit to make sure their moods are right.

Oh yeah you should also make sure the female is up on her supplementation i was told...lots of plain calcium i believe ...some one correct me if I'm wrong...but I'm pretty sure that's what it is...

Ok Ill do that and is it good Idea to give a female a pinky or slik worm?
(For fat so she can lay her egg better)

In the container you want her to lay the eggs in I would recommend using washed playsand that is moistened enough to hold a tunnel.

For incubating the eggs I would recommend coarse grained vermiculite that is just barely moist.

If I use sand wouldent it be dagerous?
(Like wouldent it on into her eyes?)
and where can I get them?

I have used a sand produced by kings that comes in a white bag with red, blue and yellow sandbox toys on the front of it. My chameleons have never had any problems with it.

The vermiculite should be available at any garden Centre and the sand at places like Home Depot.
