So I had my cham for about 2 1/4 months and im still feeding him in a cup but i would like to make him hunt for the food and just let the crickets out loose, the problem is i have a glass terrarium (because it keeps the humidity better) with no substrate at the bottom just glass, but thats the problem since i have to spray his enclosure with water it just fills up at the bottom and i cant afford to add a drainage system, i clean out the poop and water once a week. since the water fills up i cant let the crickets out cuz they will drown and my cham will have trouble walking on slippery wet glass. I was think of putting a green 'reptimat' at the bottom so he and the crickets can walk freely, so what do you guys recomend?

I have live plants at the bottom that soak up some of the water and I also use a cloth for when I mist. Id be careful with having a ton of water at the bottom in case your cham falls into it and it will probably also accumulate bacteria during a week sitting there.

Once a week? WTH? You're creating a breeding ground for bacteria/mold/ect. Don't let water sit around for more than a few hours. You need things to dry out between misting. Also clean the poop as often as possible. I don't leave poop in there for more than a few minutes. Maybe it's because when I take a dump I flush it down Immediately for reasons that should be obvious.

Just get a screened cage and some plants. If you have to, cover some sides up to keep the humidity in if it's really a problem. That way your Cham can breath and dry up as well as hunt for food without drowning or crawling in waste.

Also, more info will help. What kind of Cham, ect.

Quickest fix is to lay paper towels on the bottom. You will need to wipe the tank out more often than once a week. Absorbent, easy to remove, and not too expensive. Any other type of repticarpet or mat will need to be cleaned frequently.

One of many problems with free ranging feeders is that they end up eating and walking in the grunge on the cage floor (you won't want your cham eating this stuff). Also, crix groom off their supplement dust pretty quickly and excrete their gutloads so you would need to catch any uneaten ones each evening. If crix spend the nights loose in the cage they can climb up to chew on your cham while it sleeps too.
