Well I have a nice cage for my cham I built but I have the door open all the time with 2 branches going to a fake tree out side of his cage and he seems to all was be out there and doesn't want to go back in I have to put him back in . When I do put him in he just sits at the front door and waits for me to put his tree back out so should I just free range him from now on or not and I would have to put lights out there then too

well that would be up to you. You have to make sure that he cannot wander and he will be safe. Do you have any other pets such as dogs or cats that would have access to the free range area? Are you home all day? Yes, you would have to have the lights hanging above the free range if you are not going to cage him anymore. You have to have them safely hanging so he cannot get burned.

I have a dog but he's not aloud in the room and no am not home all day am at work 8 till 4:30 but he seems to really like just being out of the cage he never seems to wonder any were he just seems happier out on his tree but I think I will try just having the free range run out if the cage and make the free range bigger with more stuff

I decided to do a free range and at first my came stayed within the confines of the free range now after a month or so he's the king of the house he goes where and when he wants but he always goes back to his cage to sleep eat and drink but I'd say he spends 90% of his time in the free range and the rest wondering around finding things to climb mostly checking out the windows for warmth and a different view of things but I know his normal routes from watching him so I generally know where to find him fairly quickly if need be I'd free range him only on the days you can spend with him at first then you can learn his habits as he gets bolder and then you'll know if you can trust him or not to be left alone to free range
