Hi everyone, we like to feed our veileds lots of different kinds of bugs. We found a massive bug called a mydas fly in florida where we live; does anyone know if they are safe for the chameleons to eat?

Thanks!

I'de say no, according to some resources it is a WASP related fly and has a painful sting, and with a sting, often comes venom:eek:

Mydas flies are actually mimics of wasps, therefore they have no sting and are completely harmless. However they are large and look dangerous. I do not know however if they are safe to feed. I would assume so, just be careful they haven't been introduced to pesticides.
