Hello everyone I was thinking of adding a hibiscus plant into my enclosure because Mortimer is starting to munch on some plants but my concern is taking away too much space inside and crowding him. I'll post a pic of my enclosure and I would love to hear any opinions or advice
His cage is a diy 16x16x36
And he is almost 4 months now

If you do you will have to add a plant grow light because flowering plants really are hard to keep indoors. I have found the uvb is not enough and they require more. Your enclosure is kinda small for that too, so not sure where you are going to fit another pot. If I could make another suggestion to you....from the pic it looks as if your chameleon is very close to the basking light. Make sure none of his body can touch the screen(or get too close) while basking or he could get burned.

Thank you carol I am sorry for not mentioning this but i actually do have a arcadia 6.0 and the daylight 6500 (i think thats the name the day light one) and you are right he does like his high branch I will make sure he wont be able to reach the screen. As it stands I should probably lower it about 3 inches to be safe. I kinda figured it would be too crowded :/

thanks for the insight

If you have that light, then yes it is possible. I have found the live plants when they get too much water from misting, dripper, etc. they sometimes tend to start dying from that, so make sure your plant pots have very good drainage, otherwise you will get root rot. I would probably wait on the hibiscus until you get a larger cage, but that is just my opinion. You are welcome!!
