OK i know im a bad cham owner! Last night i went to bed and totaly forgot that my 12 month old male veiled was outside. I normaly only put him out for a few hours if the weather is warm enough as here in the uk it isnt often nice enough for them to be out all day let alone all night. Does anyone know what minimum temps these guys deal with in the wild? Thankfuly when i realised my mistake this morning i rushed out to find a slightly pissed off fella looking back!:(

They have been found in slight sub-freezing temps in nature. I know a guy who found his calyptratus with ice popsicles hanging from it (there was a freak weather event for the area and season), he was sure it was dead but had later moved and was very much alive.

I try to take them in at night when the tempa risk going under 15C, other than that they do fine outside 24H.

 I bet your heart was in your mouth when you realised you'd left him out! Do you free range him outside, or was he in a cage? Lucky it's still quite warm in the UK at night, well, for now anyway!

Yea, they can handle the cold stuff......I've had mine out when it was in the 40's.......and no probs.....they actually seem to do better with such xtreme drops in temps.
