She's beautiful!!!!! She does look like she could have eggs. You don't have lights inside her cage do you? She could get burned. Have you read the Raising Kitty site? All of that info is great and there's a section in there that tells you how to keep their temps lower and feed them less to keep them from having eggs. That's what I've been doing with my little girl. It's hard on their little bodies to make and lay eggs and it shortens their life. Jann

Put your bulbs outside the cage. A regular household bulb is all you need plus tour UV bulb. Where are you located?
Is your cage screen?

Hi
She looks nice - and FAT.

As suggested, it would be best to have the UVB and Heat bulbs located outside the enclosure, to ensure she doesnt burn herself. Of course you cant have glass between the bulb and her either, but a wire mesh or screen works well to both let the UVB and heat through yet protect her toes and tail.

Do you have holes or ventilation slots on the sides and back and top? Air circulation is important. Your enclosure appears to be solid (glass?).
Do you find the glass bothers her in terms of reflection? Some people would say it can, and that you might consider painting or puting a frosting cling film on the sides/back - wait, never mind - it looks like the sides and back are opaque already. :)

You might consider having real plants in there, instead of the fake leaves. Helps with humidity and plus Vields will eat vegitation.

I have a red heat bulb in at the moment and it is out of reach and a uv light yes the sides are wood and the front is glass i am gunna get some real plants in there iv been told ivy is the best what does any 1 else think. And there is ventalation at the back of viv.

There's a safe plant list on the left side of the home page.

Try good old B&Q :D for Ficus (also known as Weeping Fig) and Umbrella plants (Schefflera). That's where I get most of my plants from. Also Pothos (Devil's Ivy) is commonly used for chams too. Check out the safe plants list (in the resources tab at the top of the page). Not sure about the red heat bulb - chameleons like to bask under a white light (simulating the sun).

lol iwas told to use a red light at night as chams cant see red is this true if not i will take it out this is so hard innit lol. But she is worth it i stil aint got a name for her yet stil thinkin lol.And i will go to b&q and get some plants thanks.

How cold does is get in your house at night? She will be fine as low as 65....some cham keepers even let them get a bit cooler. If it's cooler than 65 I'd get a space heater for the whole room or either a ceramic bulb for her cage.

Lily doesn't have any heating at night. Chams need a temperature drop at night to sleep. I am by no means an expert - Lily is my first chameleon and I'm still learning too. Perhaps someone else will add to this but I think that a night temp of low 60's is ok.

B&Q did a value pack of 3 small houseplants that I bought when I first got Lily, had a ficus, umbrella plant and another (that I can't remember the name of) that I didn't use for Lily but I think you'd be better off with some of the taller ones in your viv.

Tiff
