I built this cage a few years ago for anoles , i live out in central Florida and i was wondering if it could be used for my panther to get some natural rays., i think i may remove the roof though. it's pretty easy to walk into. I just need to stick a little tree in there.

I think it should work fine as a temp outdoor cage. Just make sure to clean out all the weeds and stuff. I would make sure no ants are in there either they can and will attack a cham. You can leave that roof on there. It will enable the cham to get out of the diresct sun if it gets too warm. Just make sure that he has access to a dripper or set up a sprinkler to come on thru out the day.

mostly, it just has sword fern in the bottom which i know is safe but there are a few foreign weeds though. If you may notice though, the entire cage is shady, maybe i shall just remove like the front third of the roof. but yea. just a few hours a day, maybe ulitmately like the whole time im at school which takes 7 hours but i think thats too long, i think i may also have an extra slot in my houses sprinkler system that i could use to rig up one or two of those fine mist sprinklers.

I think it will work, looks nice and stable.

Like Texas Panther Man says clean out the weeds maybe give it a good cleaning. Make sure your little guy has access to water via dripper and misting

I wouldn't leave you guy outside while you are in school unless you have someone to check on him and make sure he isn't overheating or getting into mischief.

I worry that it's on the ground -- are there any predators that come into your yard? Chams like being higher up, and while I like the actual enclosure, I don't think it's a good idea to have it on the ground. JMO

As long as its supervised time outside he shouldnt have any worries. But I like my perm outdoor cages to be on legs and have the supports sitting in insect proof containers to keep the ants out. But for an hr or so every few days that cage should suffice.
