1. Male, Veiled Chameleon I reckon he is around 4 months old and ive had him for two months
2. I try to limit handling and mainly handle when necessary
3. I feed terry 6 adult crickets that are coated in calcium ( i will explain which one when it comes to that) and i gut-load them with dandelion leaves ( i leave them in a bucket in my closet with the leaves and some egg cartons with water salt) i usually feed him around noon
what is water salt? You can/should use a wider variety of veggies and greens.
4. I coat them with repti-calcium calcium it doesn’t have D3 and it doesn’t mention anything about phos or vitamin A (the picture above) it's important to dust with the phos free calcium powder at almost every feeding...but it's also important to dust with a phos free calcium/D3 powder twice a month and a vitamin powder with a beta carotene prOformed source of vitamin A twice a month too. Some people provide a prEformed source of vitamin A once in a while...but you need to be careful with it since it can be overdosed.
5. I use a pressure mister around 2-3 times a day and i try not to aim it at him i am getting a dripper since i don’t see him drinking at all and i just want to make sure he is hydrated his eyes don't seem shrunken in but i’ll include a picture of his eyes
please don't spray directly at the chameleon.
6. His poo is long a solid looking note it is not actually solid it is just log looking and the white thing is yellowish sometimes but most of the time it is white and he has not been tested for parasites
7. He doesn’t enjoy most things i presented him with some lettuce by putting on a stick and waited and he just sat there all discombobulated.( the lettuce was just chillin on a branch i wasn’t waving it in his face
8. The cage is all metal mesh and the dimensions are H: 30” W: 16” L:16”
9. the brand of the lights are the zoo med ones (as seen on the picture above) and i try to replicate the natural daylight cycle as best as i can most often recommended UVB light is the long linear reptisun 5.0 tube light and just a regular incandescent household bulb for basking is fine.
10. temperature is usually in the 70’s at the bottom and the high 80’s at the top i measure the temperature every once in a while with a digital thermometer.
11. I rely heavily on this humidity gauge to tell me the humidity to increase the humidity i simply mist him then i let it fall again in the day it levels at about 60-70% and at night i try to get it at 80% before i go to bed then it drops to 50% when i wake up
12. i use fake plants but when he gets older ill give him some lettuce or something so ge can chomp on it I would recommend that you use only nontoxic well washed both sides of the leaves real plants because providing it with veggies won't stop him from chomping on the fake ones. Also lettuce is not a good choice to give him.
13. My cage is at the back of my room facing a window it is near a street but it doesn’t make enough noise to stir him up
the cage is on my dresser because i have a cat who would love to munch on him so the top of the cage is 6ft and a half from the floor and the bottom is 4 ft from the floor he is not next to any fans or vents
14. Central South Carolina
oh and also i just want to see if i am doing something wrong
