Cham

Yes, he's a young male ambilobe, he litterally just started showing color about 3 days ago! Thanks for your compliments!

chams

He's about 7-8 months old. His colors are alot more impressive than that when he's sleeping i'll have to take some pics tonight and put them up! He's def. a sunburst that's for sure!

yea, veileds are like that for some reason. Day time, mad, and sleeping colors are totally different.
Thats why i like them so much!:D
I would say i like my veileds more than my panther....but i have had the veiled longer. plus he was my first chameleon.

chams

Yah, i've enjoyed me veileds more so far, but then again i've had my panther for only about 3 weeks. All of my chams have alot of personality though!

very nice animals! nice cage too, can you tell me how you got that 'seamless finish' look with the screen installation? (I can't see how/where the screen is actually held down)

top secret

I just went to a menards and bought 4 wooden screen doors, this way they would all measure to the same specs and i just drilled three of the sides together, fastened with screws. Then i attached plywood to the bottom and attached lenolium tiles to the bottom so water wouldn't get through and warp the wood. On the fourth door i used three hinges to make a door that swings open, the enclosure is large enough that i can actually walk into it, being that the cage is 6'7 X 3' x 3' . On the top i bought aluminum screen because aluminum is heat resistant, so the light and heat can get through the screen, but if my cham decides he wants to climp upside down in the cage, he won't burn his feet on hot metal. The whole cage costed around $75 to make and was a very fun project. I'm saving money to really deck out the inside of his cage.

I was wondering that too, that cage looks sooooo well made. It looks like you use wood trim. That wood is really nice but like 70cents a foot.

edit-just read your post! Good idea!

Actually i bought premade screen doors. They were like 14 dollars each. So that's like almost 60 bucks, then the rest of the costs were in hardware (screws, hinges, locking clasps, and then the screen top)
