New to this awesome forum...My question is, my chameleon too fat? Male or Female?

I am a new Panther Chameleon(Ambilobe) owner and I just purchased this chameleon, Pantone, about 3 weeks ago. Even though, this is my first post I have been reading and looking on this forum every day for information and tips. I am glad to have found this forum because I think its totally awesome and it have helped me a lot with learning what is best for my new pet.

My question is do u guys think Im over feeding my chameleon, Pantone, from the looks of this picture?

And do u guys think it is a male or female? Its about 4 inches(not including the tail) and ive been told its about 3 months old when I purchased it (4 months now since i had him for almost a month).. It just recently changes to green and teal color during different times of the day and if its trying to blend in with a plant.

Thanks in advance

you have to tell us what you are feeding him. I say him cause that is what I think it is, a male. You really cannot overfeed a 4 month old. They should be getting about 20 feeders a day so if you are feeding in that range, you are good! Welcome top the forums. He is a cute little fellow!

Ive been dumping a lot of fruit flies in the morning and then about 10 crickets (half inch size) in the afternoon... I recently added wax worms to the diet cuz I want to train it to eat from my hands...and after 2 days it now eats these worms from my hands quite quickly. I know wax worms are fatty and have very little nutrients but i was feeding him 2-4 the past 4-5 days because I enjoyed him eating the worms from my hands. I also didnt want to throw away or waste the remaining wax worms that I had. I am now completely out of wax worms and will probably never or hardly ever buy them again since I read that they hardly serve any purpose for them healthy/diet wise. I just want to make sure I didnt make him overly obese during the past week from wax worms... Pantone has a pretty round belly and u can hardly see his ribs anymore. He is quite active though and it climbing on the plants often.

Thanks for sexing him... I was told he is a male when I purchased him but I just wanted others opinion as well....I really was hoping he is a male

Heres a picture of my juvenile set up and will upgrade his enclosure in about 4-6 months... Im most likely going to remove the moss on the bottom because I dont want to risk impaction if eaten even though he hasnt yet. Im trying to debate if I should just use paper towels or some of those reptile carpet or fake turf. Suggestions for what works best? I know paper towels are easiest but I kinda wanted a more natural look.
