My Female is puzzling me

So my RB Ambilobe female, Strawberry is throwing me for a loop. She was mated 8/7/09 and layed her clutch at 9/9/09. She didn't show any receptive colors and i would flash a male at her and shed turn gravid probably every 2 or 3 weeks. She layed a secondary clutch on 12/14/09, all of which were infertile. She showed receptive colors about a week ago and tried a breeding session, all was good she got into position and the male started head bobbing and walking up, then something triggered her and she flashed gravid colors and bit him. It has been a solid week now that whenever i see her she is showing gravid color, but she cant see any chams from her cage. Plus she is eating fine and not acting any different, also well hydrated. I have palpitated her belly and don't feel any eggs. So does anyone have a clue what is going on with her? I know that sometimes females can make them selves non receptive if they get annoyed with too many males.

Just because she flashed receptive colors doesn't mean that she is receptive....its her reaction to the male that would tell you. They don't always maintain their non-receptive/gravid colors when they are....they sort of need a reason to flash them sometimes.

Now Strawberry just layed a clutch of 24 small infertile eggs! why would she not want to mate before she layed?! i think she might be a lesbian?! lol jk jk

I was expecting this would happen. You must have tried to mate her in the "wrong" part of her cycle.

Oh, Ok. To prevent this from happening again what should I look for? I waited until I saw the pink blocks in her barring to represent her being receptive. Is it just an unlucky happening or did I miss something?

I hold the female outside the male's cage. If she doesn't sway, rock, hiss, gape or otherwise act aggressive colors, she should be receptive. If the two of them act appropriately to each other you can put them together...just keep an eye on them for any negative changes.

See I did that, and she just never wanted to mate. I tried showing her the male probably once a week for five weeks.
